Why Dubai, and Why Now: A Founder’s Note

I get asked this a lot. “Why Dubai? Why now?”
The short answer: we go where our clients need us.
I first encountered Dubai in 2011. Since then, I have built many connections in Dubai and across the Gulf. I founded Hajizade Group in Baku, Azerbaijan, in 2012, and by 2023, it had become the largest PR firm in the country. Then came Sāwol Communications USA in Washington, D.C. Two firms. Two continents. More than a decade of work across Türkiye, Central Asia, Eastern Europe and the United States. Dubai was the obvious next step.
The Gulf is not slowing down. UAE tourism reached $70 billion in 2025. The MENA hospitality market is heading toward $487 billion by 2032.
When capital moves this fast, reputation, awareness, and communications become everything. A bad headline can kill a deal. A misunderstood interview can spook investors. A crisis handled poorly can end a project before it starts.
In this region,, we are primarily interested in three fast-growing industries: crypto, real estate, and hospitality. Each faces a similar challenge: most of these companies operate globally but live locally. A Web3 company here needs to speak to Western media, understand regulation across jurisdictions, and respond to a crisis within hours. A real estate developer competes for buyers in Istanbul, Mumbai and New York. A luxury hotel hosts guests from all over the world, and one bad story in the media matters.
These industries do not need press releases. They need narrative control, message discipline and crisis readiness.
At Hajizade Group and Sāwol Communications USA, we built our reputation on hard cases: information warfare, crisis communications, reputation recovery, and reputation management. We have managed crises spanning several countries and involving multiple actors. We have built strategies for clients in hostile media environments. This is not theoretical work.

Our structure sets us apart. Sāwol Communications Gulf in Dubai, Sāwol Communications USA in Washington, D.C., and Hajizade Group in Baku operate as sister companies. A client building in Dubai but raising capital in New York? We handle both. A hospitality brand launching in the GCC but facing scrutiny in the American press? We coordinate the response. Same standards. Same leadership. Nothing gets lost in translation or in transition.
Dubai is more than a location. It is a platform. From here, we reach the GCC markets with local knowledge and connect to the West and the North. For clients who need visibility without losing control of their story, we offer that.
Reach out if this sounds like what you need. We are selective about who we work with. We prioritize clients who understand that communications is not a cost center. It is protection and an investment.
Dubai made sense because the market needs what we do. Simple as that.
